Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the urban center, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
